Wild Dunes is a fantastic choice for you and your family for a complete vacation experience. Beachside Vacations also offers some outstanding large homes with private pools in the residential neighborhoods including Abalone Alley, Oyster Row, and Shad Row. Live entertainment can often be found on the Grand Pavilion during the summer months. The Grand Pavilion features two oceanfront swimming pools, bar, surf shop, café, and ice cream shop. The majority of the homes featured in Wild Dunes are located in the Grand Pavilion. Each complex is beautifully landscaped and would feature a private pool. These structures are highlighted by condominiums ranging from one to four bedrooms.

A series of three to five story structures stretch along the beach at Wild Dunes. There are three facilities that require the Sportscard for access, the Tennis Center, Fitness Center, and Wild Dunes Swim Center.īeachside Vacations offers a variety of properties, from one bedroom condominiums to six bedroom oceanfront homes. For example, to play tennis at the Wild Dunes Tennis Center, your accommodations must feature a Sportscard and the rental guest is required to pay an hourly court fee. Wild Dunes Club amenities do require a daily fee for use of a facility. The Sportscard allows a rental guest, staying in the property owner’s home, access to the Wild Dunes Club private amenities. The Sportscard must be purchased by the property owner each year. To access these private club amenities, your accommodations need to feature a Sportscard. The golf courses are public, but many of the amenities are part of the private Wild Dunes Club.
Dining options include Hudson’s Market, Sea Island Grill & Lounge, The Lettered Olive, The Grand Pavilion Bar & Café, Sand Bar and Dunes Deli. These include The Wild Dunes Links Golf Course, The Harbor Golf Course, Tennis Center, Swim Center (with heated outdoor pool), Sand and Sea Spa, children’s recreational programs, playground, miles of bike trails and a fitness facility. Wild Dunes offers many outstanding amenities. Throughout the 90’s and 2000s Wild Dunes continues to grow and develop with the addition of The Grand Pavilion, The Boardwalk Inn, and The Village at Wild Dunes. Following extensive repairs, Wild Dunes returned better than ever in 1991 again earning numerous accolades. In 1989, Charleston, as well as Wild Dunes, was devastated by the destructive force of Hurricane Hugo. Fazio later returned to Wild Dunes and opened the Harbor Golf Course, which won Golf Magazine’s "The Gold Medal” and placed Wild Dunes among the top 12 golf resorts in America. It is even rumored that a large oak tree located in the fairway of the 13th Hole of the Links Golf Course is the Gold Bug Tree from the story "The Gold Bug” written by Poe when stationed on nearby Sullivan’s Island. Henry Finch was such a fan of Poe, many of Wild Dunes first structures were named after Poe’s stories. The name Wild Dunes came from and Edgar Allen Poe's poem. The prestigious and highly successful Wild Dunes Links Golf Course became so popular, the developers of Wild Dunes decided to change the name from the Isle of Palms Beach and Racquet Club to Wild Dunes. He created a masterpiece with the two final holes overlooking Atlantic and in two short years, The Wild Dunes Links Golf Course was ranked as one of the world’s best golf courses by Golf Magazine. Fazio’s goal was to protect environmental landmarks. It was Tom Fazio's first solo designed project. The Wild Dunes Links Golf Course was opened in 1980. In 1981, Tennis Magazine named it one of the "Top 50 Tennis Resorts in the Country”, which Wild Dunes has maintained every since.
The focus of the property was the tennis center that featured 17 Har-Tru courts. The Finch family worked with Charles Fraser of the Sea Pines Company (Hilton Head) to develop Wild Dunes, which was first known as the Isle of Palms Beach and Racquet Club. Developed in 1972, it was the first Planned Residential Community in the State of South Carolina.
Wild Dunes is a wonderful private community located on 1,600 acres on the northern end of the Isle of Palms.
